My Birthday Present

8 PM June 26, 2003

My wife is planning something for my birthday next month. She is pretty pleased about it. So far, she has told me that:

  1. She has already paid for my birthday present,
  2. It cost approximately three hundred dollars,
  3. She had to arrange with someone who is used to wives arranging surprise presents for their husbands,
  4. It involves being in the Hunter Valley early on a Saturday morning,
  5. It will take several hours to complete,
  6. I will be physically tired afterwards, AND
  7. She’s not going to tell me anything about it.
